A South Edmonton homeowner dreamed of a backyard retreat that would bring together relaxation and functionality. Their existing deck wasn’t quite cutting it—it needed to extend further to complement their hot tub and create a seamless, elevated outdoor living space. They wanted something stylish, durable, and cohesive, without disrupting the existing structure.
The main challenge on this project was the logistics of accessing the backyard to install structural piles. The space was tight, and we needed to bring in equipment without damaging the homeowner's existing deck or landscaping. Additionally, the new deck needed to integrate flawlessly with the original structure, both visually and functionally, ensuring the transition to the hot tub felt natural.
Our team developed a careful plan to minimize disruption and maintain the integrity of the existing deck and yard. We selected composite decking for long-lasting durability and low maintenance, paired with modern black aluminum picket railings for safety and style. The deck layout was designed to provide a smooth transition and align perfectly with the hot tub area.
We coordinated the pile installation to avoid damage to the surrounding space, successfully maneuvering the necessary equipment into position. Over the course of five days, the team completed the expansion, ensuring the structural integrity and aesthetic alignment of the new deck with the existing one. The result was a seamless drop-down extension that provided both function and flow.
