Decks of Distinction took on a creative project in Stony Plain with a clear directive and a budget of $15,000. Over a span of 10 days, the team was challenged to construct a multi-level deck that included wide steps, a cedar privacy screen, a pergola, and skirting—all integrated into a cohesive outdoor living space.
The project involved several custom features: wide steps for a grand entrance to the deck, a cedar privacy screen to create a secluded area, a pergola for aesthetic appeal and partial shade, and skirting to enclose the under-deck space neatly. The design had to be functional, yet stylish, and had to be executed swiftly.
For the decking, durable composite material was chosen to ensure longevity and ease of maintenance. The aluminum railing provided a modern and sleek look while ensuring safety. To meet the privacy and shade requirements, the team designed a custom cedar screen and a matching pergola that offered both form and function.
During the 10-day construction period, Decks of Distinction's crew worked efficiently, meticulously crafting the wide steps to provide a stately access point to the various levels of the deck. The cedar privacy screen was erected with precision, and the pergola was constructed to provide a balanced combination of sun and shade.
